turns into a “Block party” too.

Hmmm, let’s see what the Lexington papers are saying…

Lack of progress scary for Cats fans
EVEN MORE JASPER, MEEKS NOT ENOUGH

“…As a result, there was the old Pitino staple — the savage spurt that cuts the heart right out of the opponent, that turns a nip-and-tuck into a laugher…”
“This is very frustrating for us,” Kentucky senior Joe Crawford said. “We felt like we could beat this team. We felt like this was a game we let get away. They just played with more urgency. They had a better game plan than us. They put a charge on us, and we weren’t attacking.”
“… The Cards shot 56 percent the second half…. They forced Kentucky into 13 turnovers for the second half, 22 for the game. They gave both sides, U of L and UK fans alike, a taste of those “good old days.”
Only for Kentucky, those days seem further and further away, further by the day…”
Obviously, much more work to do before we start even dreaming about cutting down any nets…much less just surviving the Big East gauntlet.
But…
Juan and David looked strong and reasonably healthy.
Our assist/turnover ratio was > 1 again.
Andre was not over-matched at all– Andre had a 4-1 turnover/assist ratio (as did Juan) and shot 50%.
Sosa played solid too, thank goodness.
After jacking up 13 3′s in the first half (and only hitting 3), we tried just 7 in the second — and still hit 3.
That and our D forcing 22 TO’s, and shutting Patterson down
helped seal the deal.
(BTW, DP + PK + JS = unselfish effort, intensity, spirit).
It’s a spark. Now can we fan it into a wildfire….
Go Cards!
