Nice stuff.
They all talk about Jordan, The Babe, Ali, Jesse Owens, and Jackie Robinson…but as I said before, for me at least, the top athlete of the 20th Century was Karl Walenda. Not only did he scan Niagara Falls on a none too tight tight-rope, traverse the rocky summits of the Grand Canyon with his creaky seventy year old knees, span the cold and uncaring cliffs of Wall Street investment buildings (I bet some placed a “short” bet that he would fail), but he did it all wearing a pair of BLANKETY BLANK slippers! How high tech is that?! And he still did it even when he was an old man. No nets. Just a long stick.
And least we not forget, he did not FALL to his death in Puerto Rico, he was blown off before crashing to the roof of a Plymouth RoadRunner hundreds of feet below.
Hope your doing well.
No nets in life, Frank.
