Angel Achieves a Dream…

Angel McCoughtry — the leading scorer in U of L basketball history, and the Big East’s leader in scoring, rebounding, and steals for the last 3 seasons–was selected #1 in the WNBA draft by the Atlanta Dream.
Her selection as the #1 pick is also the first for U of L women’s bbball. (Pervis Ellison was Louisville’s only other #1 pick in history.)
Her teammate, Candyce Bingham of Louisville Manuel High, was also chosen with the last pick in the draft.
The brilliant hard play, guts, and humility that the women displayed this year was one of the most inspiring stories in Card sports history.
Here’s hoping that Angel will experience the sweetest of Dreams…
