Pitino States He & Sypher Had Consensual Sex & Abortion

Well, it wasn’t donkey sex or some gay fling with his equipment manager after all.
It was what, frankly, has been rumored about the hot bloodied Italian coach–and his long-suffering wife–since Pitino’s heyday at UK in the 90′s.
Today, the Louisville Courier Journal reported that Rick Pitino told police in an interview that he had consensual sex in 2003 with accuser Karen Sypher in Louisville’s 4-star Porcini’s restaurant, after the owner Tim Coury– his friend who sits behind the bench at games– had flipped Pitino the keys and told him to lock up after everyone had left.
However… someone else was still hanging around for some reason, when Pitino and Sypher were entangled. It seems that trusted Pitino right hand man, Vinny Tatum, stayed behind also, for some reason.
Vinny, who had been the designated driver for the whole group’s celebration of the hiring of Reggie Theus as assistant BBall coach that evening in 2003, told police he had lain down to rest, but had then heard sounds of, well, pleasure-making.
A few weeks after all this, in what is the most unsavory aspect to this new information, is the news that Pitino offered to pay $3000 for an abortion for this woman, when she told him she was pregnant. (BTW, in another odd twist, this discussion about the abortion was held discreetly–at Pitino’s suggestion– at the condo of Tim Sypher, U of L equipment manager and future husband of Ms. Sypher .)

Now why Pitino ended up being driven home from Porcini’s that night by Sypher in her Escsalade–when Vinny the designated driver is still there–I am not entirely sure quite yet…
And why Karen Sypher was even there that evening– or if Pitino knew her before then– I do not know.
Nor am I entirely clear why Tim Sypher decided to marry this woman just six months later, so soon after he knew of her tryst with Pitino and push for $$$ for an abortion….
But I’ve never had to resist the apparent charms of one Ms. Karen Sypher…
