Freshman Shoni Schimmel–the highest ranked recruit ever for women’s Bball at U of L– displayed just why, popping 6 of 9 3 balls, and 8 of 15 shots overall. In addition, she pushed the pace madly–think Siva– and ran the Mildcats to death, with a wild 6 A’s and 8 TO’s.

Becky Burke stuck six 3′s and 21 points of her own for Louisville– which amazingly flipped a 60 pt turnaround (!) from it’s 34 point loss to UK last year.
The Lady Cards have now whipped UK 6 out of the past 7 times they have met…
The crowd of 22,152 was the largest crowd to watch a women’s game this year. And was the nation’s sixth largest college basketball crowd this season–men’s or women’s.
And frankly– UK was obviously shaken by the roar of the huge crowd.

Card’s D stood up tall too and held UK to only 29 % shooting –and shut down their 3′s.
