It wasn’t beautiful…but it was pretty.
Yes, the offense sputtered a bit, but Teddy Bridgewater still hung a career top 344 passing yards on the Bears, in route to a 35-7 rout. And again got multiple targets involved early and often, with 7 players catching at least 3 passes each.
And importantly, the Card defense–which looked suspect against UK (373 total yds)–adjusted big-time to a similar no -huddle offense by Missouri St., holding them to just 249 and a goose-egg in the second half in scoring.

The Card D– introduced here by Mr. B. J. Dubose– redeemed itself after a porous effort against UK in the opener.
So all in all, not a stellar , but a more than adequate, outing against a very decent FCS opponent, and deserving of the boost to #19 in the newest A/P poll.
Now for North Carolina. NC had figured to be one of our toughest challenges this season, since we lost to them last year, but they screwed things up badly for the anticipated re-match by losing to Wake Forest by a point yesterday. Oh well…
I say: Charlie and Teddy make me eagerly anticipate every game of this season.

Teddy Bridgewater hit 10 targets, including 7 players with 3 catches each. Eli Rogers was the beneficiary of this one and 3 more.

Sunny Will Stein executes a two point conversion after the first TD for the second week in a row. Hey…we’re getting good at this, and I like it.
